Hot air balloon festival reaches record number of attendees
The “perfect storm” was no storm at all. Blessed with three days of ideal weather, the 21st Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon and Skydiving Festival saw record attendance, uninterrupted hot air balloon competitions, two balloon glows, a fireworks show, skydiving and drone exhibits, and long lines at the food vendors.

Electronic recycling event to take place at Riverside High School Aug. 6
FRANKLIN TWP. ― A free electronic recycling event is set to take place at Riverside High School in early August. Franklin Township officials have announced that the recycling event will take place at the school from 2 to 6 p.m. Aug. 6. According to the event flier, no appointments are necessary and there will be a drive-up style for drop-offs.
Cincinnati, OH Recycling and Reuse Hub hosts ‘Telescope Recycle and Repair’
For the second time this year, Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Hub and Astronomer Dean Regas have collaborated to keep telescopes from entering landfills. Astronomy expert Dean Regas said that the event, “had a great response. There’s been so many people bringing in/dropping off their telescopes. This is our second time doing it – we did once in January, and we had sixteen telescopes come in. [Saturday has] been a little more than that.”
