Ski Utah President and CEO Nathan Rafferty said one new trend is apparent when looking at visitor data for the state’s 15 ski resorts from winter 2023-2024. “We have seen just this last year an uptick in local visits,” Rafferty said. “There are two reasons. A lot of people are moving here to Utah, because of the great recreational opportunities. And then the sale of these multi-area passes. If you’ve got a pass in your pocket that’s good for multiple ski areas, you’re going to ski a ton.”

SALT LAKE CITY— We’re not even halfway through summer, and Salt Lake City has already clocked the number of 100-degree days seen typically in an entire year. KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson said that, on average, Salt Lake City will have nine days per year where temperatures are at least 100 degrees. Health Department Closes Hotel Pool After Pool Users Experience Health Problems
TriCounty Health Department has issued a pool closure at a Vernal hotel after they responded to an event that resulted in several people being treated at area hospitals. The investigation is underway at the Comfort Inn pool. “TriCounty Health Department responded to the scene after learning of dispatch calls reporting that pool users were experiencing respiratory distress, nausea and vomiting,” shares the health department’s announcement. “TriCounty Health believes there is no ongoing risk to the public or to hotel staff or guests. Those who were affected were transported to area hospitals. Ashley Regional Medical Center reports that all who came in for treatment have been discharged.” The health department will provide more information as the investigation develops.
