Local professor part of excavation effort in ancient city of Pompeii
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - An associate professor at Indiana State University is helping uncover history in the ancient city of Pompeii as part of a global initiative. Alex Elvis Badillo is working with a team that is excavating a city block in the ancient city through Tulane University's Pompeii I-14 Project. Great weather for Brickyard weekend!
We are kicking off Brickyard weekend with sunshine and mild temperatures throughout central Indiana. Lows dropped to the mid-50s in our outlying counties this morning, and closer to 60° in Indianapolis. The weather is going to stay dry today with a high-pressure system located over the Great Lakes region. However, we will see more clouds building into the state this afternoon. Highs will reach into the lower 80s.
