(KADN) — Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a two-vehicle deadly crash on US Highway 90 near Lori Lane in Patterson on Thursday, July 25, shortly after 10 p.m. The crash claimed the lives of 77-year-old Anthony Peck, 77, of Franklin, and Betty Hester, 58, of Benton, Ky.

Battle over huge new Deer Run subdivision ends with Livingston Parish settling lawsuit
Days before a federal lawsuit was set to go to trial, Livingston Parish has reached a settlement concerning a large new subdivision in the Denham Springs area. Friday’s judgment, signed by Judge Shelly Dick in the U.S. Middle District Court of Louisiana, allows the Deer Run subdivision to move forward and prevents the parish government from enforcing any present or future ordinances that attempt to “retroactively nullify or impair the development approvals and permits previously obtained.”
Toddler struck in hit-and-run on Harry Drive, brought to hospital in stable condition
BATON ROUGE — A toddler was brought to the hospital Friday after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on Harry Drive, Baton Rouge Police said. The two-year-old was struck by a vehicle on Harry Road near North Carrollton Avenue and was found unconscious in the street. The child was brought to a hospital after emergency officials were called and is stable, BRPD said.
