WoW Remix ends on August 19, at which point all of your new (and overpowered) alts will transition into the standard game. Your characters will maintain their current level, but they’ll lose the gear they’ve collected along the way: sorry, but you can’t keep those wildly powerful gems or the Cloak of Infinite Stats Potential. So just what’s going to happen to your Remix characters? And what will be in your bags when you log on after the event ends?

What happens to my WoW Remix character when the event ends?

With the introduction of Warbands, players on The War Within beta began to notice that previously finished quests were giving all of the transmog options that were available to every class. This was quite the boon for avid transmog collectors (like us), and it was shouted as a huge win, with much positive chatter within the community. Sadly, it appears that this extra transmog was not intentional, so players won’t be seeing this when the expansion goes live next week. But never fear, because these changes (and more) will be making their way to the live game… eventually.

There are four new Renown factions in The War Within that players will become familiar with when the expansion begins on August 26 — the Council of Dornogal, Assembly of the Deeps, Hallowfall Arathi, and the Severed Threads. Much like the other Renown factions in World of Warcraft, each of these groups will primarily occupy one zone in Khaz Algar and be introduced as the player moves through each zone.

With The War Within‘s release date rapidly closing in on us, the World of Warcraft team has been pushing little teasers and images and rundowns to pique our collective appetite for the upcoming expansion, and Alleria: Light and Shadow may be the pinnacle. It looks like a hand-drawn Saturday morning cartoon, and serves not only as another lore recap, but spells out explicitly Alleria as a character.
