Growing trash, litter at Beaumont home leads to discovery of squatters
BEAUMONT — Coming home to find someone else living there is the reality for one Beaumont homeowner, whose home in the north end has been taken over by one or more squatters. Neighbors of the home at 5270 Landry Lane originally contacted KFDM about trash littering the entire yard of the property. Reverend J.D. Roberts says he and other neighbors noticed the trash three weeks ago and the piles are steady growing.

Man wanted for alleged felony theft from car dealership
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport Police is seeking the public’s help in seeking a man who is wanted for allegedly stealing from a car dealership. On August 27, the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) obtained warrants for the arrest of James Williams and is now searching for him. Williams is wanted for his alleged connection with a felony theft at a car dealership in the 1100 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
Texarkana Physician Sentenced to More Than 7 Years in Federal Prison for Prescribing Controlled Substances Without a Legitimate Medical Purpose
August 26, 2024 – TEXARKANA, AR – A Texarkana Physician was sentenced today to 87 months in prison followed by three years of supervised on two counts of Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Substance Without an Effective Prescription and 12 months in prison followed by one year of supervised release on two counts of Distribution of a Schedule V Controlled Substance Without an Effective Prescription, all to run concurrently. The Honorable Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey presided over the sentencing hearing in the United States District Court in Texarkana.

It certainly appears that we aren't taking very good care of our teachers. A number of Texas school districts have kicked off the school year. This type of thing would never be on my radar, except for the fact that a number of teachers posted their Amazon wish lists online in order to receive a little help. If you're unfamiliar with the phenomenon, the teachers are so desperate for classroom basics that they are turning to their communities for a little support. I have to say, it's a bit embarrassing that the State Of Texas doesn't give teachers what they need to do their jobs.
