BGSU football: 3 storylines for 2024 season ahead of MAC media day
BOWLING GREEN — A senior-laden and experienced group comprises Bowling Green State University’s football program. Is 2024 the year the Falcons bring the Mid-American Conference title back to Bowling Green? After posting a 7-6 record, securing its first winning season since 2015, and earning its second consecutive bowl berth during the 2023 campaign, BGSU will have high hopes and expectations in what could be a memorable year. Sixth-year coach Scot Loeffler (20-35 record) and his staff did an admirable job of bringing back a vast majority of its starters and key reserves from last season, and they added a solid number of talented players in the transfer portal that should step right in, as well. A BGSU team that includes 32 seniors will be looking to win the program’s first MAC championship since 2015 when the Falcons went 10-4, topped Northern Illinois in the title game and had a pair of wins over Big Ten Conference teams.

Tax deadline is fast approaching reminds Putnam County Treasurer
PUTNAM COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The Putnam County treasurer wants to remind property owners that their tax deadline is fast approaching. Taxes are due July 19th, and people can pay them at the treasurer's office in the courthouse, located at 245 E Main St #203, Ottawa, OH 45875, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Thursday or Friday. Or people can put their payment in a drop box in an alley off Hickory Street. If you are mailing your check, it needs to be postmarked by July 19th for it not to be considered late. And if you own a manufactured home, your final payment date is July 31st.
Firefly Nights takes over downtown Bowling Green Friday
BOWLING GREEN — The second Firefly Nights festival of the summer will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday downtown. There will be live music, food trucks, vendors, and family activities. On-street parking will be prohibited on Main Street, from Court to Washington streets, and on East Clough Street beginning at 2 p.m. Main, from Court to Washington, will close to traffic at 4 p.m. While Main is closed, no through traffic will be permitted on Clough. Wooster Street will remain open for east and westbound traffic. During the Main Street closure, detour routes for local and truck traffic will be posted. All streets will reopen, and parking will be reinstated on Friday following the event.
