BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Tuesday was an eventful day for a few police officers, who experienced a possibly once in a lifetime experience.

The Bloomfield Police Department received a 911 call from a woman in labor around 10:30 a.m.

They quickly dispatched crews to the scene and officers were able to help delivery a healthy baby boy.

“Thank you so much to all. A special thank you to our ambulance crew who arrived shortly after and assumed care of mother and baby,” police said in a Facebook post.

The baby was delivered by Bloomfield Officers Frank Teixeira, Gabriella Boulanger and Sgt. Brendan Danaher, according to Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance officials, who said their own personnel on scene included Aaron Durette, Phil Kopplin, Josh Hall and Carly Rabinovich.

Ambulance crews provided care to the mother and baby and transported them to a hospital for further attention.
