Emma Freid Named Team Captain for 2025 Bloomfield High Softball Team

The Bloomfield High softball team has been playing well this summer.

Head coach Rich Adams' team has competed in an Essex County league, and a number of players are getting valuable time on the diamond.

"The summer has been going well so far," said Adams. "The girls have been working hard, and we have played well through our schedule so far."

Improvement comes with playing time and effort, and Adams is pleased to see those components clicking.

The Bengals had a good season this past spring, and Adams is hoping that will carry over into 2025. Bloomfield won 17 games this spring, the most since 2017.

"We have continued to improve each week, and we are getting some strong performances from the girls at the plate, as well as in the circle." the coach said. "Overall, I am very pleased with the efforts of our players, and we will look to continue to, compete and improve as we get ready for next season."

Adams announced that Emma Freid will be the team captain, in 2025.

"Emma is our senor first baseman, and she has been named our sole (for now) captain," said Adams. "She's a great kid."

Teagan Weber, who will be a sophomore, had a standout season in 2024.

"Teagan continues to improve," said Adams. "She had a great spring (2024) season as a freshman."
