August History Bit: Webster Union Cemetery
Webster Union Cemetery, located at the corner of Rt. 250 and Woodhull Rd., is one of the richest historical sites in Webster. Farmland was donated for the first known burial in 1817, when a Webster child needed a place to rest. It was originally called The Burial Ground, Lakeside, Union Cemetery of Webster. Since this caused some confusion between other areas near Webster, especially Union Hill Cemetery, the name was officially changed to Webster Union Cemetery in April 1954.

URMC receives $27M funding award for groundbreaking heart failure medication study
Rochester, N.Y.— Groundbreaking research that could change the future of health care will soon begin right here in Monroe County. The University of Rochester Medical Center is getting a $27 million funding award from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute to lead a heart failure medication study.
