Tiger Woods’ Son, Charlie, Misses The Cut At The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

At just 15 years old, Charlie Woods is under intense pressure to succeed.

Woods found himself in his first U.S. Junior Amateur Championship after shooting a 1-under (71) at a USGA qualifier in Florida earlier this year.

Tiger Woods watched every shot (alongside 500 golf fans), as Charlie posted rounds of 12-over (82) and 10-over (80) at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Charlie missed the cut, finishing 247 th out of a field of 264. While the initial thought might be disappointment, Charlie currently ranks as the No. 763 junior golfer in the world. Shock and awe isn’t necessary.

Charlie (and Tiger) attracted a massive crowd, and despite missing the cut, fans stuck with them throughout both rounds. As Charlie prepares for his sophomore year of high school, he’ll look to fill the enormous golf shoes of his father. For reference, Tiger qualified for his first U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at 14, so Charlie’s only one year behind dad – for now.
