Bryan County Fire Chief Freddy Howell announced his retirement Tuesday. After more than a decade of service, Howell said his faith led him to make the decision. “I have faith in God, pray, and trust in His timing,” said Howell. “I believe it is His will for me to step away from public safety and pursue something different for a few years before retiring for good. On July 3, I completed 39 years in public safety with a government agency, and many of my colleagues have already retired or moved on to other opportunities.”
