Household hazardous waste collection event set for Sept. 28 in Bloomington
The Ecology Action Center (EAC) in Normal has announced a household hazardous waste collection event for Sept. 28 at the Interstate Center in Bloomington. The free event, funded by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, is intended to provide a convenient and safe way for residents to dispose of hazardous materials.
Bloomington City Council approves funding plan for downtown facelift
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - The Bloomington City Council has adopted a plan to fund many millions of dollars in improvements for the downtown area. The council on Monday night unanimously created a tax increment financing district. Known as a TIF, increased property tax revenue generated from downtown improvements will fund road and sewer upgrades in addition to other “streetscape” projects.
