He shot 36.4 percent from beyond the arc this season and is a 37.8 percent 3-point shooter in his career.The 6-foot-3 Olivari is Rice’s all-time leader in three-pointers made.For his career, Olivari has scored 1,487 points, made 252 threes, and shot 77.6 percent from the free throw line.Olivari is a shoot first guard. He took 30.5 percent of Rice’s shots when he was on the floor this season, a figure that ranks No. 61 nationally. He’s also an especially active rebounder for a guard. His 18.8 percent defensive rebounding rate ranks No. 322.In addition to his fondness for the 3-point shot, Olivari is aggressive off the bounce. He draws 5.0 fouls per 40 minutes, and attempted 160 free throws on the season. He’s inefficient when forced to take twos away from the rim. In that scenario Olivari only converted 36.5 percent of his shots.As an Atlanta, Georgia (Westlake H.S.) product, Olivari likely has a connection to IU assistant coach Yasir Rosemond.Arizona, Kansas State, Auburn, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Georgia, LSU and USC are some of the other schools that have been mentioned as involved with Olivari.As a high school prospect, Olivari was a 3-star recruit and Rice was one of his only Division I options.A skilled combo guard who can score from all three levels, Olivari looks a bit like former Indiana guard Robert Johnson on film.
