INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) – Three years ago feels like a lifetime for Indiana football fans. In the shortened COVID-19 season, the Hoosiers were a play or two away from punching their ticket to the Big Ten Championship game.

Now Indiana is resetting with Curt Cignetti as the Hoosiers’ new head coach . Cignetti and IU were one of six teams taking center stage on the final day of the Big Ten Football Media Days at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Cignetti has a history of turning around college football programs with losing records. At Elon, Cignetti led the Phoenix to an 8-4 record and an appearance in the FCS playoffs in his first season. Cignetti then helped James Madison transition from FCS to FBS in the Sun Belt Conference. The Dukes finished 12-2 this past season, winning the Sun Belt East Division.

Indiana kicks off their season on Saturday, Aug. 31 against Florida International.
