Elk River’s Just For Kix takes first in Bloomington meet

Elk River Just For Kix dazzled at the recent Together We Dance Competition in Bloomington. Elk River took the first-place title in three categories of the Solo Duet Small Group competition and brought home 10 plaques in all from the Together We Dance competition.

The event occurred over the first weekend in March at Bloomington Kennedy High School. It brought together dance enthusiasts from across the region for a celebration of artistry, passion and camaraderie, according to Karissa Leistico, the director of Just for Kix in Elk River.

The competition featured 339 Solo/Duet and Small Group performances and 338 teams competing in various divisions including Kick, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Pom.

A grand total of 444 dancers participated in the Solo/Duet/Small Group category, while an astounding 2,283 dancers graced the stage in the Team division.

“Elk River Just For Kix emerged as a standout among the talented participants by leaving a lasting impression with their remarkable performances,” Leistico said. “I am incredibly proud of our teams and the way they represented our town with utmost pride and dedication. Their performances were a testament to their talent, hard work, and the unwavering support of our community.”
