The iconic Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is already underway on this 2024 Fourth of July holiday.

And despite Joey Chestnut not participating in the event, there is still a lot of eyes on the legendary battle between the world's best competitive eaters.

The women's part of the contest has already taken place.

And winner Miki Sudo made competitive eating history today, as she set a new women's record with 51 hot dogs eaten to claim her 10th Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest championship.

While this record can't compete with what Chesnut has produced in recent years, Sudo has cemented herself in the record books with Thursday's performance.

Betty's Hot Dogs offers Nathan's all-beef hot dogs as well as vegan hot dogs. The food cart is part of Food Truck Friday in Bloomington and sells hot dogs, cookies and drinks along the B-Line Trail on Saturdays.

Fans are praising Sudo's record on social media.

"The Glizzy Queen reigns supreme," one X user wrote.

"Wow that literally was a dominating performance kudos to her!!" said another.

A third fan commented on the event's timing by saying, "They can’t wait until noon to kick this off huh? Stuffing glizzys down your throat at the top of the morning will forever be funny lol".

Chestnut or no, at least there are other competitive eating icons to carry the torch at this year's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.
