Illinois man dead after crash in Grant County

BLOOMINGTON, Wis. -- A Illinois man died Thursday afternoon after a motorcycle crash in Bloomington.

Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman said Joseph Foppe, 58, of Texico, Illinois, was northbound on Highway 35 and Budworth School Road on his red 2023 Harley Davidson Motorcycle with a large group of other motorists.

Dreckman said witnesses in the group reported Foppe appeared to slump over and began veering towards the southbound lane. He continued into the southbound lane and struck the guard rail and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Witnesses immediately assisted Foppe at the scene and attempted life saving measures. He was later transported to the Grant Regional Health Center by EMS where he later died.
