    Man in custody after sending officers on foot chase

    BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is in custody after police say he sent officers on a foot chase.

    According to the Bloomsburg Police Department on July 17 around 1:30 a.m., officers observed 22-year-old Austin Ambrose on Market Street who is known to officers for a warrant in Columbia County.

    Police say Ambrose gave officers a fake name before sending officers on a foot chase.

    Officials say upon the arrest a small plastic baggie containing a controlled substance was located in the back of the patrol car.

    Ambrose has been charged with flight to avoid apprehension, evading arrest/detention on foot, false ID to law enforcement, and possession of a controlled substance.
