Rapidan Dam Store building demolished
BLUE EARTH COUNTY, Minn. — Blue Earth County officials moved to purchase and demolish the Rapidan Dam Store building due to concerns of continuing soil erosion. The officials initially brought a contractor to the site to explore the possibility of moving the building, but the contractor felt the project was too dangerous, according to a release from the county.
Gone But Not Forgotten: Rapidan Dam Store Has Been Torn Down
After the family behind the Rapidan Dam Store posted a hopeful message earlier this week on social media, about reopening the store in some fashion, it appears the family took a buyout from Blue Earth County, as the building was torn down today, keeping it from falling into the every encroaching Blue Earth River.
