DOJ: Windsor man sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking, possession of machine gun
The Department of Justice reported on Wednesday that a 28-year-old Windsor man was sentenced Tuesday to three-and-a-half-years in federal prison for possessing heroin and fentanyl intended for distribution and possessing a machine gun. Byron Ellison will be on supervised release for three years.
Rafters pick up 'Fourth of July' win over Mallards
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters celebrated Independence Day with a victory on Thursday, taking down Madison 12-4 at Witter Field. The Mallards scored first in the first inning before adding another run in the second. From there, the Rafters took over. The Rafters scored their first run in the second before a third inning on a three-run home run by Max McGwire. Cashel Dugger picked up a homer of his own two innings later on a two-run bomb to make it 6-2.

Stoughton’s Krcma named to Wartburg College Dean’s List
Stephen Krcma of Stoughton was named to the Wartburg College Winter/May Term Dean's List. The college recognized 466 students for Winter/May Term. The list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the terms. Four of the five course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.
Brookfield Central and Brookfield Academy Earn 2024 WIAA Boys Team Tennis Titles
MADISON, Wis. – Brookfield Central and Brookfield Academy captured State Team Boys Tennis Championships Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the campus of UW-Madison. The top-seeded Lancers (25-2) won team championship with a 4-3 win over second-seeded Marquette (22-3) in the Division 1 championship match. Brookfield Central won all four singles matches.
