ROCKWALL, TX (May 24, 2024) In 2022, there were 15,299 serious injury crashes in Texas, resulting in 18,880 people sustaining incapacitating injuries, according to data from Texas Peace Officer’s Crash Reports. Reportable crashes occurred in the state every 57 seconds, with 1 person injured every 2 minutes and 9 seconds.

Chandlers Landing Community Garden Tour set for Saturday, June 1

Rockwall County jury sentences Dallas man to 10 years for felony theft of property
ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (May 22, 2024) On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, a Rockwall County jury convicted Dallas resident, Larry Lee Davis, 61, of the felony offense of Theft of Property less than $2,500 with two or more previous theft-related convictions. After the jury returned a guilty verdict, Rockwall County District Judge David E. Rakow sentenced Davis to ten years in prison.

Summer Adventure begins at the Rockwall County Library
Rockwall, TX (May 22, 2024) – The Rockwall County Library is kicking off an adventurous Summer Reading Club with a community extravaganza on Monday, June 3rd from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Registration for the summer reading club will open onsite with a variety of activities for all ages. See the Rockwall High School Yellow Jacket and Texas Roadhouse armadillo along with Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse horses, Rockwall Fire Department fire truck, Republic Services recycle garbage truck and other attractions. The library will host crafts and activities for all ages.
Bikes for Tykes Teddy Bear Ride coming Sept 15
ROCKWALL, TX (May 22, 2024) America’s Guardians (Law Enforcement/Public Safety Motorcyle Club Texas 28A), has announced that eventhough 2023 was a banner year for their annual Bikes for Tykes event, they intend this year to be the best yet. Organizers have tweaked the route and added some beautiful, rolling back roads for the 9th Annual Teddy Bear Ride benefiting the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County. Also new this year will be outrider escorts posted every 100 riders just in case of an emergency.
Rockwall Kiwanis Triathlon set for Aug. 4
ROCKWALL, TX (May 21, 2024) – The Rockwall Kiwanis Club will host its annual Rockwall Kiwanis Triathlon on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall, located at 1210 North Goliad Street, Rockwall, TX 75087. This year’s triathlon promises to unite community and challenge with a 150-yard pool swim, a 10-mile bike ride, and a 5K run.

ROCKWALL, TX (May 21, 2024) – The Rockwall community and citizens from surrounding areas came together in a spectacular display of celebration at the annual Founder’s Day Festival held Saturday, May 18th. This year’s festival was especially significant as Rockwall celebrated its 170th anniversary. The event, which has become a beloved tradition in the area, marked its 20th year with the largest attendance yet, drawing an estimated 7,500 people. Rockwall welcomed residents and visitors for a day of family-friendly fun, live music, delicious food, and community spirit.
