Breckenridge pledges more money for program that pays people to convert units into workforce housing
Breckenridge’s deed-restriction acquisition program, Housing Helps, saw such high demand in 2024 that the town spent its entire budget for the program by mid-August. While presenting to Breckenridge Town Council at an Aug. 27 meeting, housing manager Laurie Best said the community’s interest isn’t waning and suggested an expansion for the program’s budget.
Breckenridge moves forward with privately funded, all-electric workforce housing development
A local builder is working to bring a privately funded all-electric housing development to Breckenridge that is geared toward the local workforce. Applicant Tom Begley with builder Breckenridge Lands received unanimous approval from the Planning Commission at an Aug. 20 meeting for a 44-unit, deed-restricted housing development slated to be in the Highlands Riverfront area on Colorado Highway 9.
