BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) – Big things are happening in the City of Bluefield, West Virginia.

Things are starting to wrap up with the Bluefield demolition project.

15th annual Hoops Drills and Life Skills Basketball Camp offers kids a great start to summer

They are preparing to demolish one last building with the project starting back in February.

Throughout the summer, traffic patterns throughout the city will be changed due to work.

Jim Spencer, Executive Director of the Bluefield Economic Development Authority, said they are calling on Bluefield residents for advice on what to do next.

“We’re taking input from the community as far as what we built back. We got a couple options with some green space, park, almost like Chicory Square on a larger scale. Maybe an amphitheater, food truck park, meeting space. Things like that. Also maybe some potential retail,” said Spencer to 59News.
