Bench warrant list released by the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — The Bluefield West Virginia Police Department released a new bench warrant list on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

The Bluefield City Municipal Court issued the bench and arrest warrants, but it is not the full warrant list. The people on the list could be wanted for reasons that include obstructing an officer, assault, destruction of property, prostitution, drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, DUI, or other reasons, not only traffic tickets.

According to a post on the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department’s Facebook page, the listed individuals can turn themselves in at the Bluefield City Police Department. When a person on the list turns themselves in, they will be processed through the jail and given a bond amount. If the person makes bond, they will be released and will receive a future court date. People with show cause warrants can get the warrant dismissed by paying the fine at the Bluefield City Police Department.

The defendants are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The listed individuals have had previous convictions of crimes charged through the City of Bluefield.
