MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man was arrested for the death of an 18-year-old woman.

Teagon Thatcher, 23, was charged with dealing resulting in death, a Level 1 felony.

According to court documents, on Feb. 27, an 18-year-old woman was found dead in a bathroom, unconscious and unresponsive, at a home in Bluffton at the 800 block of S. Johnson St.

The individual was identified as Neva Petty.

The investigation determined that Petty traveled to Thatcher’s address in Muncie to pick up fentanyl, then traveled back to Bluffton, where she later overdosed in the bathroom, according to the affidavit for probable cause.

During the investigation, officers found a bag of “grayish powder” and a black drinking straw located near her body. An autopsy of the body showed findings “consistent with an overdose.” The toxicology results showed the presence of multiple narcotics, including fentanyl and methamphetamine

Thatcher’s bail was set at $50,000.

This is an active investigation. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
