Section of I-64 named “Deputy Sean Riley Memorial Highway”
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A ceremony was held to honor a fallen deputy with naming a section of U.S. Interstate 64. Deputy Sean Riley was the officer shot in the line of duty in Wayne County on December 2021. On Tuesday morning, the unveiling of the name was shown at the Willow Creek Event Venue.
Selmaville Grade School’s new administration settles in
The Selmaville Grade School has a new Superintendent and Principal. The school board hired Brittany Boldt as Superintendent this spring and Kristi Consolino was named Principal at a special meeting earlier this month. It’s the first time in a number of years Selmaville has had the Principal’s job filled.

National Weather Service Confirms Three EF-1 Tornadoes In Quad Cities Area
(Davenport, IA) -- The National Weather Service is confirming at least three tornados touched down in the QCA from Monday's derecho. Andy Ervin with the National Weather Service says one moved through Davenport into Bettendorf before crossing the Mississippi River into Illinois. Another was on the ground for eight miles between Taylor Ridge and Andover. A third touched down near Kewanee.
4-year-old boy competes in National Mullet Competition
Showcasing his mullet named after Patrick Swayze, a four-year-old from Millstadt, Illinois, will compete in the National Mullet Competition this month. Bohdi Fischer and his mullet, "The Swayze Special," will compete in the 1-4 age group while strutting the "business-in-the-front, party-in-the-back" hairstyle.

East St. Louis, IL – Several southern Illinois state parks are experiencing total closures or road closures due to flash flooding over the past 24 hours. According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Frank Holten State Park in East St. Louis is currently closed to all visitors due to severe flooding. The closures are a precaution to ensure visitor safety as water levels continue to rise.

For many parts of the Quad Cities, stoplights are out and power companies are working hard to restore power to those affected by what has been classified as a derecho. It was a nasty, eventful Monday night. MidAmerican says that they expect to have most Quad Cities outages restored by 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17th and all restored by 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
