BMW XM, M5 G90, Cullinan Series II Climb The Goodwood Hill
There of the heaviest and most powerful BMW Group cars tackled the Goodwood course over the weekend. The XM Label and M5 G90 were joined by the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II at the hill climb event held in West Sussex, UK. These three mastodonts are also some of the widest production vehicles out there. That means navigating through the narrow sections of the road was quite challenging.
Take A Closer Look At The BMW X3 M50
It’s safe to say the M5 G90 stole the X3 M50’s thunder at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. To make things right, we’re here to show love to the M Performance G45. BMWBLOG spent quality time with the hottest version of the fourth-generation luxury crossover and its fresh Dune Grey color. Flaunting quad exhaust tips, the new not-quite-M X3 looks the business.
Rediscovering Elegance: The Timeless BMW Garmisch at Goodwood FoS
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, held annually at the historic Goodwood House in West Sussex, England, is a celebration of motorsport and automotive excellence. The 2024 edition of this illustrious event also gave us another look at a remarkable classic: the BMW Garmisch. This concept car, originally designed in 1970 by the renowned Italian designer Marcello Gandini for Bertone, was meticulously recreated by BMW in 2019, honoring both its legacy and its visionary creator.
BMW USA Recalls 1,145 models for Driver’s Airbag Issue
BMW has announced a recall of 1,145 vehicles in the United States due to a potential issue that could cause the driver’s airbag to explode during deployment, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall affects several models, including the 2015 6 Series Gran Coupe, 2014 5 Series Gran Turismo, and 2014 5 Series sedans. These vehicles are equipped with airbag inflators manufactured by the Japanese automotive parts maker Takata Corp. The issue stems from a manufacturing defect that can cause the inflator to explode, potentially sending sharp fragments toward the driver and other occupants. This defect has prompted widespread recalls across multiple automakers over the years.
2027 BMW iX5 Shows Its Neue Klasse Design in New Renders
The first-ever BMW iX5, excluding the hydrogen prototypes sharing the same name, will enter production in late 2026 for a 2027 debut. The first test mules of the BMW iX5 were spotted last week, so it is no surprise that renderings of the future electric crossover are starting to appear. In these new set of images, the BMW iX5 follows the design lines of the Vision Concept X which not only previews the BMW iX3 (NA5) but also the future design language.
The BMW M2 CS Could Cost Over 110,000 Euros In Germany
The age of the six-figure M2 is upon us. When BMW introduces the M2 CS next year, the meanest iteration of the G87 could cost more than €110,000 in Germany. It’s an exorbitant price tag considering the standard M2 retails for €76,600 in its home market. However, provided our sources are accurate, the M2 CS will still undercut the bigger M4 CS by roughly €50,000.
2025 BMW iX Facelift Spied In Action At The Nurburgring
Codenamed I20, the controversially styled BMW iX came out in 2021 as a production version of the 2018 Vision iNext. We’ve learned to live with its bold design, and it looks as though the Life Cycle Impulse won’t bring radical changes. A new spy video shot at the Nürburgring shows the iX LCI cloaked in camouflage while undergoing intense testing.
BMW M4 CS Makes Dynamic Debut Up The Goodwood Hill
We obsessively covered all things M5 G90 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but there were plenty of other new BMWs there. Aside from the M135 and X3 M50 we’ve already highlighted, the M4 CS showed up as well. In fact, the meanest all-wheel-drive G82 of them all celebrated its dynamic debut up the famous hill climb course.
2025 BMW M135 Makes Video Debut With M Performance Parts
The new BMW 1 Series F70 costs as much as €70,000 in Germany if you go for the M135 with all optional features. However, the hot hatch can end up even more expensive. Enter the M Performance Parts catalog. These extra goodies haven’t been officially announced yet, but we’ve been seeing tricked-out cars on social media in the past couple of weeks.
MINI Wants A Smaller EV But Claims It’s Not Technically Possible
The 2011 Rocketman was rumored to morph into a production vehicle that would’ve been more faithful to the MINI name. As you may recall, the concept was engineered to accommodate three-cylinder combustion engines. However, subsequent reports about a road-going vehicle speculated the entry-level model would be an EV. It ultimately didn’t happen, but the idea of a true MINI hasn’t been completely abandoned.
BMW Type 168 Differential: Troubleshooting, Rebuilding, and Replacement Guide
The small case 168 differential on the four-cylinder petrol BMW 1 Series and E90 3 Series ranges is a bit troublesome. There is no obvious reason for this to be so – it is a very well-made unit, machined to incredibly fine tolerances, and uses bearings from well-respected manufacturers. However, many begin to whine by 70,000 miles and can get really noisy. While it is rare for a diff to fail, I recently replaced a diff in a 2008 BMW 320i Coupe (E92) that was close to a big failure and a loss of drive.
New Photos of the 2025 BMW M5 in Frozen Deep Grey
BMW brought not one but two new M5s at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Speed Yellow M5 highlights the vast offerings of the BMW Individual program while the Frozen Deep Grey model showcases the possibilities of the standard color palette. To elevate the exclusivity of their new super sedan, BMW has announced that up to 150 special colors will be available for the 2025 BMW M5 G90 generation.
The New Audi A5 Fights The BMW 3 Series, 4 Series Gran Coupe
Having been launched back in 2015, the Audi A4 was in dire need of a replacement. The all-new model is finally out, and it goes by another name. The A5 Sedan and A5 Avant replace the old A4-badged models and come along with spicy S5 performance versions. However, we should clarify the A5/S5 Sedan is not a sedan in the truest sense of the word. It has a more practical tailgate instead of the traditional trunk lid. In other words, it’s effectively a replacement for the old A5 Sportback.
3,500 km Journey Through Europe with the BMW i5 M60 xDrive
How convincing is the electric BMW i5 in practice, especially on long journeys? Is it a real alternative to a high-torque diesel like the BMW 540d xDrive? We conducted a varied practical test over 2,000 miles through half of Europe to evaluate what the top model, BMW i5 M60 xDrive, can do in everyday life—cruising, charging, and performance.
Podcast: We Talk to XPEL About the Pros and Cons of PPF, Ceramic Coating and Tinting
PPF – What Is It?. For car enthusiasts who are passionate about maintaining the pristine condition of their vehicle’s paint, PPF is a highly recommended solution. Hardy explains that PPF acts as a barrier, protecting the original paint from various types of damage such as UV rays, road debris, and harsh weather conditions. This protective layer ensures that your vehicle’s paint remains in excellent condition for a longer period. A unique feature of XPEL’s PPF is its self-healing capability, which allows it to repair minor scratches and imperfections on its own. This innovative technology not only extends the life of your vehicle’s paint but also makes it easier to clean and maintain, preserving the car’s aesthetic appeal over time.
2025 BMW M5 Pricing, Packages and Options Now Available
While the initial G90 2025 BMW M5 debut gave us a little insight into pricing and options, we now have a more comprehensive look at US pricing. G90 M5 pricing starts at $120,675 after delivery fees, but fret not. The super sedan still has lots of room for its price tag to swell. Pricey options like $8,500 ceramic brakes, a $3,100 Carbon Package, and nearly $2,000 Frozen paint offer lots of room for customization – and spending.
BMW M2 Crowned MotorTrend’s Performance Vehicle Of The Year
BMW just made the M2 a little bit better for 2025 but the “old” G87 was good enough to secure a coveted title from MotorTrend. Beating six other finalists, the second-generation compact sports car from Bavaria is the magazine’s 2024 Performance Vehicle of the Year. Who did it manage to beat? Quite a few big names: Ford Mustang Dark Horse, Acura Integra Type S, Ferrari 296 GTB, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and the 911 Dakar.
Here’s A Closer Look At The Six-Cylinder BMW XM 50e
This might look like a regular BMW XM but it’s missing two cylinders underneath the hood. While the regular model and the hot Label share a V8, the entry-level variant makes do with a six-cylinder. New images from Slovenia show the lesser-known 50e flavor from all angles. This base model is only sold in certain countries to dodge taxes on high-displacement engines.
BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo Rendered Based On New 5 Series
The GT formula didn’t live up to BMW’s expectations as the Gran Turismo models were far from a commercial success. The 6 Series is still being produced in India for the local market but the G32 is living on borrowed time. A direct successor seems highly unlikely given how unloved these oversized hatchbacks were.
BMW V8 Engine Could Power The Ineos Grenadier Off-Roader
Car manufacturers make the most of their money by selling cars but there are other revenue streams. One of the most lucrative methods to increase profits is to sell parts to other companies. Combustion engines are typically the most complex pieces of hardware, so there’s serious money to be made there. BMW knows that better than most other automakers.
