Review: 2024 BMW M2 Epitomizes All That’s Good About ///M
BMW makes most of its money these days by selling tall crossovers and SUVs. This isn’t yet true for BMW, thankfully, but given the direction the industry seems headed, as well as the fact that the first bespoke M model is a 2.8-ton SUV, the days of nimble, sporty M sedans and coupes could be numbered. A couple of decades from now, there may not be enough buyers to justify their creation.
BMW iX5 Hydrogen Debuts at Art Basel with Es Devlin’s Stunning Artwork
At the 2024 Art Basel, BMW made a striking impression by unveiling a uniquely artistic color scheme for the iX5 Hydrogen. The new design, created by renowned artist Es Devlin, stood out brilliantly amidst the vibrant and creative crowd. The intricate exterior, featuring Devlin’s distinctive collage painting, captured the essence of both technological innovation and artistic expression, making the iX5 Hydrogen a centerpiece in an event filled with art enthusiasts. Thirty of these hydrogen-powered vehicles were used to shuttle VIPs around Basel, showcasing the practicality and efficiency of hydrogen as a fuel source.
See The 2025 MINI Cooper 5-Door In John Cooper Works Trim
MINI introduced the new Cooper 5-Door yesterday but without showing us how the sporty John Cooper Works Trim. However, that omission has now been rectified as the German configurator is already up and running. Seen here is the more potent Cooper S in the confusing JCW Trim that’s all show without any extra go. A real JCW variant of the F65 is not planned, but the 3-Door F66 will get one later this year.
2025 MINI Cooper 5-Door Debuts With Simplified Cabin
If you were expecting more variety from the new Cooper 5-Door, prepare to be disappointed. Codenamed F65, the new MINI sticks to the tried-and-tested formula by serving as a more practical alternative to the Cooper 3-Door. That’s hardly a surprise since the Oxford-based marque was never going to make it significantly different than the F66.
2025 BMW M4 – Photos, Specs, Features and Pricing
The 2025 BMW M4 debuts with a slightly freshened-up look and some notable changes compared to last year’s model. While the recipe stays the same, the newest version brings some cool new flavors, including a new M4 CS model that slots between the track-focused CSL and more street-oriented Competition models. It’s the first year of the LCI (facelifted) model, and it’s not likely to see many changes before production ends in a few years, so if you like the G82/G83 M4, it might be time to think about picking one up. Major additions for the new year include new lighting elements in the front and back, a slightly revised cockpit, and a little more power for all-wheel drive models.
2024 BMW X6 M Drag Races Ferrari Purosangue
Although the BMW X6 M Competition and Ferrari Purosangue are both high-performance SUVs, the two play in different leagues. The former costs about $131,000 while the latter retails for roughly $400,000 before you add options. Nevertheless, here are the two speedy luxobarges fighting in a drag race alongside other similar vehicles.
2025 BMW i4 M50 Star Ruby Arrives At The BMW Welt
The i4 M50 isn’t a real M but that’s not stopping BMW from saying it’s the best-selling car from M. It earned that title in 2022 and kept it last year as well. As with the lesser 4 Series Gran Coupe and i4, it recently went through a Life Cycle Impulse. To better show off the changes brought by the 2025MY, a high-end version was photographed outside the BMW Welt in Munich.
2024 BMW 5 Series Gets Tiny 1.6-Liter Engine In Turkey
It’s a big world out there, and if BMW wants to remain the best-selling luxury brand, it needs to adapt to specific market conditions. In December 2021, we talked about the 5 Series with a 1.6-liter engine for the 520i sold in Turkey. That was based on the previous-generation G30 model. The new G60 is available in the country, and sure enough, it too has a downsized powertrain.
Watch The BMW iX2 Undergo The Slalom And Moose Tests
Crossovers are inherently less agile than regular cars due to their higher center of gravity. In addition, SUVs are typically heavier, and that added bulk further impacts handling and maneuverability. EVs add even more fat, as is the case here with the BMW iX2. However, this version evaluated by the Spanish journalists at KM77 has an adaptive M suspension that sharpens things up a bit.
BMW Skytop Receives Positive Feedback, Production Likely
BMW has a history of bringing great concepts to Villa d’Este but without putting any of them into production. Last year’s Touring Coupe based on the Z4 M40i almost got the green light but the project was ultimately scrapped. It looks as though the Skytop will break the mold and receive the stamp of approval. It hasn’t been signed off yet, but we’re hearing it has a solid chance of being made.
2025 BMW 4 Series Specs, Photos and Pricing
Light aesthetic changes and a smattering of new technology bring the first model year of the facelifted 2025 BMW 4 Series up-to-date and in line with what you find across most of the rest of the current BMW lineup. Though minor, these changes overall represent forward motion for the 2025 BMW 4 Series, which is still available in coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe body styles.
BMW x PUMA Summer Collection Celebrates the 1975 Art Car by Alexander Calder
BMW Motorsport has partnered with PUMA to launch a unique collection of lifestyle products inspired by the iconic 1975 BMW Art Car, crafted by renowned artist Alexander Calder. This new Capsule Collection pays tribute to Calder, a pivotal figure in American modernism and the creator of the first-ever BMW Art Car. Calder’s BMW 3.0 CSL, with car number 93, became an instant classic at the Le Mans 24-hour race despite facing technical issues.
Buying a Used BMW: Manual or Automatic Transmission?
In Europe, automatic transmission in a car was something of an expensive indulgence. The ease of town driving was the only saving grace because autos were thirstier than manuals and less reliable. This was when manual gearboxes were almost unbreakable, the dual mass flywheel had yet to be invented, and a clutch job was cheap and took a couple of hours at most. The old 3HP and 4HP three and four-speed units were okayish, but in retrospect, neither was particularly great.
BMW iX5 Hydrogen Gets a Special Wrap for Art Basel
At this year’s Art Basel in Basel, BMW highlights hydrogen as a sustainable energy source and movement theme. Partnering with Art Basel for two decades, BMW has commissioned London-based artist Es Devlin to create a series of multimedia artworks, debuting on June 10. In Hall 1.1 of the art fair, Devlin’s booth features four pieces: “Surfacing” (2024), “Surfacing II” (2024), “Mask” (2018), and “Mask in Motion” (2018).
BMW Vision M Next Makes Rare Public Appearance
The BMW Vision M Next has come out of retirement for a public display at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Slovakia. The mid-engine supercar presented in 2019 was supposed to become the I16 production model. However, the project was ultimately abandoned roughly a year later due to high development costs and the coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps using “supercar” is a stretch considering the powertrain was based around a four-cylinder engine. The Vision M Next was a plug-in hybrid with a combined output of nearly 600 horsepower. It offered rear- and all-wheel-drive modes together with an electric range of 62 miles (100 kilometers). The hybrid punch enabled a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
New MINI Cooper S With Gas Engine Photographed In Greece
MINI has refreshed nearly its entire lineup for 2024, and that includes the 3-Door Hatch. Codenamed F66, the stylish city car touched down in Greece where it was photographed in Athens. Seen here is the hooter Cooper S painted in British Racing Green with a contrasting black roof. The diminutive hatchback rides on the optional 18-inch, two-tone wheels dubbed “Night Flash.”
BMW i5 M60 Touring Shines In Fire Red With Individual Interior
BMW is doing things a bit differently with the latest-generation 5 Series. Although an M Performance is available, it doesn’t have a combustion engine. The M division only sells a fully electric i5 M60, without a M550i gas-powered sibling. There’s no news about a new V8 variant. Well, other than the hotly anticipated M5 coming soon.
