2025 BMW X3 Configurator Goes Live In The US
We’ve been keeping busy shooting the BMW X3 M50 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and we almost missed the “G45” configurator is now live in the United States. As of this week, the fourth-generation luxury crossover can be customized on the company’s website. It’s far simpler to browse than in other markets because the US only gets the 30 xDrive and the M50 xDrive.
BMW X3 M50 Shows Up In Goodwood With Quad Exhaust
The “G45” X3 is facing a problem these days at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The revamped luxury crossover must share the spotlight with the “G90” M5. That said, the event lasts four full days, so there’s plenty of time for BMW fans to get acquainted with both new models. To make it as alluring as possible, the German premium brand brought the spicy M Performance version.
2025 BMW M5 Makes A Splash At Goodwood Festival Of Speed
Just as promised, BMW is hosting the public debut of its hotly anticipated new M5 in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. As if the G90 wasn’t already an eye-catching car, the M division is showing off the super sedan in a striking Speed Yellow color. If that’s a bit too much, there’s another car in Frozen Deep Grey with a matte finish, echoing the press images.
BMW M340i Limited And M440i Limited Launched In Japan
BMW has decided to spruce up the 3 Series and 4 Series in Japan with a special edition trio. Based on the M Performance versions, “Limited” is essentially a cosmetic package. It’s available for the M340i as a sedan and wagon alongside the M440i Gran Coupe. What do all three have in common? The M Sport Package Pro is fitted as standard equipment.
New BMW X2 Grabs Five Stars In Euro NCAP Crash Test
BMW introduced the second-generation X2 in October 2023 but deliveries to customers didn’t start until this past March. The Euro NCAP got its hands on a couple of cars to test how safe this new “U10” is in the event of a crash. Since it’s a mechanical twin of the X1 “U11”, it comes as no surprise the swoopy version also scored five stars. The conventionally shaped crossover earned a maximum rating back in 2022.
MINI And Rolls-Royce Sales Are Way Down This Year
Even though BMW sales are up 2.3% this year, the BMW Group as a whole is down by 0.1% through June. MINI and Rolls-Royce both suffered double-digit losses in deliveries compared to the January-June 2023 period. The company from Oxford saw demand drop by 18.7% to 114,054 units while the folks from Goodwood were down by 11.4% to 2,819 cars.
BMW Group EV Sales Jumped By Nearly 25 Percent In H1 2024
The BMW Group’s electric onslaught is paying off since deliveries of EVs in the first half of the year jumped considerably. Between January and June, the automotive conglomerate sold 190,622 cars that didn’t have a combustion engine. That’s a significant increase of 24.6% over the same period last year. This number includes EVs sold not just by the BMW core brand, but also by MINI and Rolls-Royce.
New BMW Recall: 390,000 Vehicles Affected by Airbag Inflator Issue
BMW of North America has announced a significant recall affecting over 390,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a serious issue with airbag inflators. These inflators, produced by Takata, are at risk of exploding, potentially causing severe injury or death to the vehicle occupants. This recall primarily involves certain models from the 2006-2012 3 Series lineup, including sedans, sports wagons, and diesel variants.
One-Off BMW XM Has The Body Covered In Alcantara
We can now safely say we’ve seen it all in the BMW realm. After the XM covered in velvet, here comes the plug-in hybrid SUV with a full Alcantara treatment. Not just on the inside, but for the body, too. That’s right – the dedicated M model has had its stately body covered with the suede-like material. It’s a synthetic textile produced by the Italian company Alcantara.
People Are Buying More And More BMW M Cars
BMW is happy to report global sales grew by 2.3% in the first half of the year. Deliveries of the BMW M GmbH division had a positive impact on the total volume achieved through June. Shipments of cars carrying the “world’s most powerful letter” blossomed by 5.1%, reaching nearly 100,000 units. To be exact, that’s 99,517 cars.
BMW Global Sales Up 2.3% In First Half Of 2024
The world’s largest luxury automaker continues to grow stronger as BMW has posted solid sales results for the first half of 2024. Through June, deliveries to customers rose by 2.3%, reaching 1,096,486 units. As expected, more affordable cars such as the X1 and 3 Series did the heavy lifting. However, the flagship 7 Series also did great as demand jumped by 22% compared to the first six months of 2023.
2025 BMW 8 Series Offered with Heavy Discounts
The BMW 8 Series, a model often misunderstood, has struggled over the year to achieve widespread success primarily due to its high price point. Introduced in 2019 as BMW’s flagship coupe, the 8 Series has seen limited changes over the years with a mild facelift in 2022. So it comes as no surprise that BMW is looking to infuse some life into the sales of this gran tourer.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II Debuts In Czechia
Following its world premiere in early May, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II has embarked on a world tour. After showing up at The Quail in Monterey, the ultra-posh SUV in facelifted guise is now making a stop in Czechia for its local debut. A photoshoot was organized in the Karlovy Vary, a spa city in the northwestern part of the country. Aside from the regular version, BMW’s high-end brand also had the hotter Black Badge on display.
BMW Neue Klasse Coupe Rendered After First Spy Shots Emerge
Could it be that BMW is finally giving us a long-belated spiritual successor to the M1? Or is this just a future two-door electric coupe? Clearly, last week’s spy shots of a supercar-like prototype took everyone by surprise. And while maybe that wasn’t a fully fledged supercar, it sure looked like a dedicated sports car. Whatever the case may be, we’ve now tried to imagine what was hiding underneath the camouflage. How do we even know that was a BMW? Well, aside from the tiny kidney grille and the typical camo pattern used by the German luxury brand, the test car was clearly exhibiting Neue Klasse design cues. It appeared to fuse styling traits from the Vision Neue Klasse concepts with the silhouette of the 2019 M Vision Next. The latter almost became the I16 but BMW ultimately pulled the plug on the project in 2020.
M2 G87 Frozen Pure Grey Shows Up At The BMW Welt
As if you needed another reason to visit the BMW Welt, the exhibition center currently has an M2 on display. Not just any version of the G87 but one painted in a matte Individual color. Frozen Pure Grey was the first special hue introduced for the second-generation M2, alongside Frozen Portimao Blue. The two striking shades were launched in May 2023.
BMW Seeks Lower Tariffs for China-Made Electric MINI Imports to Europe
BMW has requested the European Union to re-evaluate and lower the tariffs imposed on its China-made electric Mini vehicles imported to Europe, according to Reuters, but not confirmed by BMW Group. The company is aiming to reduce the duty level from 37.6% to 20.8% by having the model included among those that cooperated with the EU’s trade investigation. This move comes in response to the European Commission’s announcement of provisional duties on Chinese electric vehicle (EV) imports, which were set at varying rates based on the level of cooperation and perceived subsidies.
3D Design Releases a Tuning Kit for the BMW XM
Japanese tuning shop 3D Design has launched a new aero program and tuning kit for the BMW XM, further enhancing the bold and controversial looks of this powerful SUV. This new program includes a comprehensive set of aerodynamic components designed to improve the vehicle’s performance and aesthetics. The key components of the aero program are a front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and a roof spoiler. The tuning shop says all these components are crafted from lightweight carbon fiber, ensuring durability without compromising the vehicle’s performance. Of course, the lightweight material won’t play an important role since the XM weighs in at 6,100 lbs.

We’re not only interested in finding out his thoughts about the iX M60, but also what made him pick the Model Y over any other electric car. Here are the models being compared:
