BMW Bringing New Car To 2024 Goodwood Festival Of Speed
BMW will be putting on a show next month at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed by bringing numerous models. The one we’re interested in seeing the most will be a “significant world debut from the BMW Group.” Assuming it’s from the core BMW brand, what could it be? We know the new M5 G90 will be unveiled on June 26. Perhaps the public debut will take place at the show in the UK?
BMW Opens State-of-The-Art Press Shop at Spartanburg Plant
BMW Plant Spartanburg has marked its 30th anniversary with the opening of a state-of-the-art press shop, just in time for the upcoming launch of the new BMW X3. This new facility will handle the production of the X3’s outer skin, including its exterior body sides, doors, side panels, and tailgate.
BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition Has Exclusive Rugged Upgrade
BMW is known to have a soft spot for anniversary editions as it rarely misses an opportunity to highlight a milestone. The X5 turns 25 this year, so it’s a good occasion to roll out a limited-run version. Say hello to the X5 Silver Anniversary Edition, which has some unexpected goodies. Aside from the usual badges and whatnot, this X5 xDrive40i has something no other BMW currently offers.
Manhart Sends Off The BMW X3 M With Big Power Boost
Now that the fourth-generation X3 is out, we’re preparing to say goodbye to the X3 M with a combustion engine. From what we’ve heard, the “F97” is about to be retired without a direct replacement. Instead, BMW reportedly plans to launch a fully electric X3 M on the Neue Klasse platform. Before the gas model drives off into the proverbial sunset, Manhart is unlocking more power.
BMW M2 Loses Nurburgring Record To The 2025 Audi RS3
The second-generation BMW M2 has lost its Nürburgring crown since it’s no longer the fastest production compact car around the Green Hell. That title now goes to the 2025 Audi RS3, which shaved off more than five seconds from the previous record. The sports sedan from Ingolstadt finished the course in only 7:33.12. As a refresher, the G87 piloted by development engineer Jörg Weidinger did it in 7:38.70.
Here’s The Elusive BMW Z3 With A V12 Engine
Putting the largest engine available in the smallest car of the lineup is always a fun idea. That was the whole point of a collaboration between BMW and the German magazine Auto Zeitung. This is how the V12-powered Z3 was born back in 1999. The one-off roadster has been camera-shy ever since it was first revealed in 2012. Thankfully, we can now bring it back into the limelight thanks to fresh imagery.
We Only Get One Shot With the M5 Touring
The last time you could buy a new BMW wagon here in the States was in 2019. Well, maybe sometime in 2020, since these long-roof models tended to sit on dealer lots for a bit. Regardless, it was the F31 3 Series Touring (or Wagon, Sportwagon, Estate, etc). With a small but potent 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, the intrepid wagon performed impressively while offering adequate cargo space for people, pets, and stuff.
BMW M Boss Claims Electric M3 Will ‘Beat Everything’
BMW doesn’t miss an opportunity to hype up its first electric M car. The hotly anticipated performance EV will sit above the current crop of M Performance models that don’t have a combustion engine. It’ll be based on a 3 Series Sedan-like i3 and is expected to land around 2027. Known internally as the “ZA0,” the fully electric M3 will apparently “beat everything.”
BMW Drops New M5 G90 Teaser Ahead Of June 26 Reveal
We’re just getting used to the new X3 M50 but BMW M is already redirecting our attention to its next major debut. Come June 26, the wraps will finally come off the next-generation M5. Codenamed G90, the super sedan emerges from the shadows in a new teaser video. As with many other recent models from Munich, the kidneys have an illuminated contour.
BMW X3 With Six-Cylinder Diesel Engine Confirmed For 2025
The death of the M40d doesn’t spell the end for the six-cylinder X3 diesel after all. Although the oil-burner M Performance model is no more, the luxury crossover will get a bigger diesel in 2025. The four-cylinder 20d xDrive will be joined next summer by an inline-six diesel. It doesn’t have a name yet but it would make sense to call it the xDrive30d once again. Come to think of it, BMW has updated its nomenclature by doing a switcheroo, so it’ll likely be the 30d xDrive.
BMW Quietly Killed The Rear-Wheel-Drive X3
In case you haven’t noticed, the new BMW X3 has a streamlined lineup. We’re not just talking about the M40d being eliminated from the range. Only xDrive versions are available, so we decided to ask BMW whether the rear-wheel drive will return. In a statement to BMWBLOG, a spokesperson told us the sDrive flavors are indeed dead for good.
Driving BMWs and MINIs to Discover Street Art and History in Bucharest, Romania
Romania loves BMW. If you’ve never been to the country, it may surprise you just how many BMWs you see driving from point to point, and you don’t have to be in a city to see them. BMW has a long history in Romania, where there were several privately owned dealerships before the onset of World War 2.
The New BMW X3 Costs Up To €100,000 In Germany
As if you needed more proof new car prices are getting out of hand after discovering the €70,000 1 Series, here’s a six-figure BMW X3 that’s not an X3 M. The configurator for the fourth-generation luxury crossover has gone live in Germany, so we immediately maxed it out. Although the math starts at €82,500 for the M50, we were able to add roughly €18,000 worth of optional goodies.
BMW Rightfully Refuses To Set An End Date For Gas Cars
While some automakers are already delaying their lofty EV goals, BMW never set an end date for combustion cars in the first place. Sure, MINI and Rolls-Royce have pledged to go fully electric around 2030 but the core brand has refrained from setting such objectives. In a new interview, the Head of Product & Brand Management for BMW said the ICE is sticking around.
Here’s The 2025 BMW X3 M50 With Fire Red Paint
When BMW introduced the X3 M50 yesterday, it chose to show off the M Performance SUV with a new Dune Grey color. We now get to see the top dog in the “G45” family in Fire Red aka Vegas Red in the United States. M boss Frank van Meel shared official images of the flagship X3 with the attractive paint scheme.
2025 BMW X3 Base Model Shows Up In Configurator
As someone with a soft spot for base models, I never miss an opportunity to see the latest BMW model without any options whatsoever. Thankfully, the German luxury brand fuels my harmless obsession by launching the configurator shortly after the official debut. Case in point, the fourth-generation X3 can already be customized in Germany. Sure enough, the entry-level version is included in its basic glory.
Photo Comparison: 2025 BMW X3 (G45) vs. Previous X3 (G01)
The BMW X3 SUV enters its fourth generation with a fresh coat of paint, newly hybridized engines, and so much more. With more power, efficiency, and powertrain options than ever, it’s an exciting time to shop for an X3. The third generation (G01) X3 was a fan and journalist favorite – here’s how the 2025 BMW X3 (G45) compares at a glance.
Photo Comparison: 2025 X3 M50 xDrive vs. X3 M40i
The G45 X3 is here, and the range-topping M Performance model gets an all-new look and more power than ever. The 2025 BMW X3 M50 xDrive, despite sporting the familiar B58 engine, ups the ante even more for performance-minded SUV shoppers. Here’s how it compares against the outgoing model.
2025 BMW X3 Shows a New Kidney Grille Style
The adage “Don’t change a winning team” is perfectly illustrated by the new BMW X3. The German luxury brand was never going to mess around with a profitable recipe. After all, why should it? The three previous generations sold a cumulative 3.5 million units since the original model went on sale back in 2003. Fast forward two decades later, the previous-gen model was the company’s best-selling car in 2023, with 350,000 vehicles shipped worldwide.
2025 BMW X3 30e Plug-In Hybrid Nearly Doubles Electric Range
Let’s start with the bad news – the new BMW X3 Plug-In Hybrid is not coming to the United States. Not now, not ever. With that out of the way, the X3 with a charging port brings improvements in terms of performance, power, and efficiency over its predecessor. The switch from the G01 generation to the G45 brings logistical changes since the electrified model will be exclusively made in South Africa at Plant Rosslyn.
