BMW M4 CS In Frozen Isle Of Man Green Looks Evil At Villa d’Este
For good reason, Skytop is BMW’s highlight at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. However, it’s not the only novelty to travel from Munich to Lake Como in Italy. The M4 CS is there as well, looking mean and green in a matte Individual paint. The “baddest” G82 money can buy looks great with yellow daytime running lights and the exposed carbon fiber sections.
BMW Skytop: Live Images From Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este
BMWBLOG is attending the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este where the Skytop celebrates its world premiere this weekend. The one-off design wonder from Munich continues to amaze the crowds gathered on Lake Como in Italy. Without looking at the interior, even the diehard fan can’t realize the concept is based on an 8 Series Convertible.
BMW i7 M70 Frozen Purple Has The Wow Factor
There probably isn’t anyone at BMW that can name all available colors. The vast Individual Visualizer website lets you play with all the paint jobs you can think of, including matte ones. We spotted this i7 M70 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este with a rare color: Frozen Purple Individual. It carries the “P9A” internal codename and we remember seeing it before on an M8 Convertible.
BMW i5 M60 Touring Poses In UK As Customer Deliveries Begin
To coincide with the start of i5 Touring deliveries in the United Kingdom, BMW set up a photo shoot with the hottest G61 of them all. With no V8-powered M550i wagon this generation, the fully electric i5 M60 assumes the role of the M Lite estate. This right-hand-drive car highlighted by the automaker’s UK division wears the eye-catching Fire Red paint. In the United States, this color is marketed as Vegas Red.
BMW Marks 52 Years Of M With M4s Blowing Candles: Video
2022 was a big year for BMW as it marked half a century of M. While celebrating 52 years of the performance division seems random, there are reasons why this video exists. Apparently, 52 is a lucky number in Chinese while 520 pronounced in Mandarin sounds similar to “I love you.” We’ll admit that’s a bit of a stretch but the video is worth watching.
BMW Z4 With Custom Carbon Body Harkens Back To The 507
Made famous by the “King of Rock and Roll,” the BMW 507 is one of the most recognizable models to ever come from Munich. The short-lived beauty has now returned, some 65 years since the last of the 252 cars was built. German coachbuilder estella Fahrzeugtechnik has developed a retro take on the Z4 M40i that celebrates one of BMW’s prettiest cars.
BMW’s 20th Art Car Comes To Lake Como
A few days after its unveiling in Paris, BMW’s 20th Art Car made its way to Italy for the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Renowned artist Julie Mehretu and BMW M CEO Frank Van Meel presented the car to an enthusiastic audience. The next destination for this remarkable vehicle is the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it will compete alongside a standard BMW M Hybrid V8. The stunning art car, showcased against the backdrop of the iconic Mosaic House, provided spectacular views for attendees.
First Drive: 2024 BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring
BMW is launching this year their first-ever electric touring, starting with the entry-level i5 eDrive40 Touring and the i5 M60 xDrive Touring. After driving the tuned up M Performance version a day earlier, it was now time to sample the rear-wheel drive variant. Some housekeeping items first: No, the BMW i5 Touring nor the ICE version is coming to United States. Secondly, there are no immediate plans to reverse that course either. A pity and you’ll learn why in this review.
Future of BMW Skytop Undecided Yet: 50 Units, Rumored at 500,000 Euros
The BMW Concept Skytop was unveiled tonight on the shores of Lake Como in front of a global audience. The reaction to the beautiful concept car has been overwhelmingly positive. Naturally, we are left to wonder what’s next. According to sources, the BMW Concept Skytop is being considered for production, but the final decision will be made after the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. BMW is not only gauging interest from potential buyers but also listening to feedback from the media.
BMW Skytop Detailed In Up Close Exclusive Images
We always prefer looking at real images of a car instead of those carefully supplied by the automaker. BMWBLOG had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Skytop ahead of its world premiere at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Even these detailed shots don’t tell the whole story since the concept looks better in the metal.
The BMW Skytop Is A Return To Design Excellence
It’s that time of the year when BMW proposes a new attractive wallpaper for your computer. After the Touring Coupe that graced the 2023 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, this year’s show hosts the world premiere of an equally stunning one-off. Say hello to Skytop, a reinvention of the 8 Series Convertible after completely changing the body.
Rare BMW M540i E34 Comes Up For Sale
BMW has built a lot of special edition cars over the years, some rarer than others. The M540i from the E34 era is among the most exclusive of the bunch. Aside from the fact that just 32 units were ever made, the sports sedan was only sold in Canada. There’s now a high-mileage example finished in Hellrot up for grabs on Cars & Bids. At the moment of writing, the highest bid is $25,000, with six days until the listing ends.
Bold BMW R20 Concept Debuts on the Shores of Lake Como
In front of the picturesque Villa d’Este at Lake Como, BMW Motorrad unveiled its latest creation: the BMW R20 concept. This motorcycle highlights top-tier craftsmanship and a sleek, detailed design, featuring the iconic air-oil cooled Big Boxer engine as a central element. Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad, describes the concept as “a mechanical masterpiece. The Big Boxer is its center. Distinctly BMW Motorrad.”
MINI Dissects The New Electric Cooper SE In Mega Photo Gallery
MINI continues to hype up the new electric Cooper with an extended photo gallery of the J01. Seen here is the more potent SE version in the Favoured Trim and a Blazing Blue paint job. The model highlighted here by the British brand has white contrasting accents and optional 18-inch “Night Flash” wheels with a two-tone look.
Review: 2024 BMW i5 M60 Touring – The Swiss Army Knife
The first-ever electric wagon from Munich is finally here, and there’s no better place to test it than Bavaria. Touring models are not only BMW’s most popular variants in Germany but also in Europe. Since its introduction in 1991, the BMW 5 Series Touring has sold to 1.2 million customers globally. In fact, more BMW tourings are sold in Germany today than sedans, accounting for 95 percent of the 5 Series volume in Europe.
BMW Skytop Final Teaser Released Ahead Of Imminent Debut
The 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este kicks off today in Italy where BMW will unveil its latest concept. Likely to be called Skytop following a leaked official video, the new showcar shows more skin in a final teaser. Released mere hours before the full debut, the clip shows some attractive details like the Hofmeister kink and Z8-esque taillights.
BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition Is Sold Exclusively Online
The first-generation 2 Series Gran Coupe is on its way out as the F44 will be retired before the year’s end. Before BMW launches the F74, it’s giving the outgoing model the special treatment in India. This 220i M Sport Shadow Edition is locally produced at the Chennai factory and is available to order exclusively online.
BMW Rules Out Tank Turn For Electric M Cars
Automakers always try to one-up each other to sell more cars. Some introduce useful features while others resort to gimmicks to lure in customers. When BMW showed its quad-motor EV a couple of years ago, the i4 M50-based electric monster performed a tank turn. Is the ability to perform a 180-degree spin on the spot really necessary? Maybe for an off-roader to get out of a sticky situation – as seen in the new electric Mercedes G-Class. However, the hot EVs from Bavaria won’t have it.
MINI Aceman Indigo Sunset Blue Filmed At The BMW Welt
The Aceman might come from a British brand owned by a German company, but it’s made in China. That’s why MINI chose to introduce its small crossover at the Beijing Motor Show last month. The brand’s first EV-only model has touched down in Europe where it’s up on display at the BMW Welt in Munich. Unlike all the previous encounters showing the sub-Countryman model in Rebel Red, this one comes painted in Indigo Sunset Blue.
BMW M Testing Cars With Synthetic Fuel
The death of the internal combustion engine has been greatly exaggerated. Even the world’s biggest automaker believes EVs won’t ever fully replace ICE cars. Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda recently said electric cars will never exceed a 30% market share. Where does that leave the remaining 70%? Combustion engines (and maybe) hydrogen.
