BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in Boardman were called to investigate three road-rage reports on Tuesday, two of which reportedly involved guns.

Around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, a man reported that a driver in a white Chevrolet Impala or Malibu threatened to “pop” him with a gun after he honked his vehicle’s horn at the car that nearly collided with him. The man said the incident happened in the area of Midlothian Boulevard and Shirley Road, but he said the driver followed him onto Mathews Road, where he said the driver flashed a silver handgun at him.

The man said at that time, he sped off and called 911.

A suspect was not identified in the report.

Earlier in the day, police also received a report that a man in a Jeep Grand Cherokee pointed a revolver at another driver and said, “If I see you again, I am going to blow your head off.” The incident reportedly happened as the drivers were traveling on US-224, and the caller reported that the driver had cut him off before the threat.

The man didn’t know why the man would have cut him off or threatened him but said he believed it may have been because he had a “Free Palestine” sticker on his car.

Police also received a report from a woman who said another driver threatened her because he was mad that she sat for a couple of seconds at a red light in order to be cautious.

The woman said the driver of a black GMC Sierra truck said something along the lines of her “being sorry” after he called her profane names. The woman acknowledged that the incident likely didn’t rise to the level of a crime but said she wanted to pass the information along in case it escalated with someone else.

Police did identify a suspect in that incident and said he had been involved in a similar incident in 2022 that led to a report being filed.
