Honest man returns lost money bag to Boardman business: Police

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A bag of money was misplaced Thursday but thanks to an honest man, it’s been returned to the business it belongs to.

Police received a report from a business along Route 224 in Boardman, claiming a deposit bag had been lost around 10:30 Thursday morning.

The person taking it to the bank had left his backpack unzipped, police said. The bag inside must have fallen out as he rode his motorcycle to the bank, according to the police report. He told police he retraced his route but was not able to find the bag.

As police were finishing up the report, they said a concerned citizen told them he found the deposit bag in the middle of Route 224, behind the Boardman Post Office.

All of the money and the deposit slip were inside and returned to the business.

The man who found the bag told police he is a regular customer of the business and wanted to return the bag to them.
