BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Ohio’s tax-free holiday is here, and it’s a great time to get back-to-school shopping done.

This year, the tax holiday was extended to 10 days — up from just three days last year.

More items also qualify for the tax deduction now. Most items $500 or less won’t be taxed.

Nancy Hudson was out shopping at the Southern Park Mall on Saturday taking advantage of the tax-free back-to-school shopping with her granddaughter.

“It’s been awesome. You can really save a lot of money by coming out and doing this,” she said. “She’s saving money — getting more for the money.”

The Ohio sales tax holiday runs through Aug. 8.
