Boca Raton, FL - A 26-year-old Boca Raton man was arrested last after allegedly making violent threats against Jewish people and plotting to attack a synagogue on social media.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as Paul Thomas Morris, faces charges of written threats to commit a mass shooting or act of terrorism.

According to court documents, an investigation began when a concerned citizen contacted the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office regarding a disturbing message posted by Morris, which stated he would "shoot up a synagogue and murder all Jews."

Investigators spoke with Morris' roommate, who confirmed Morris had made threatening remarks on Discord and Instagram.

The roommate reportedly expressed concern, as Morris had no prior history of violent threats, but did acknowledge Morris' struggles with mental health.

The social media posts allegedly included messages such as "I want Hitler to come back to kill all the Jews" on Instagram and "I'm shooting up a synagogue" on Discord.

Authorities highlight another alarming post on Discord, which read "If anyone is concerned about my well-being, this is where I am at: I want to scream 'kill all Jews' at anyone I have ever known."

Morris admitted to detectives that he made the posts but claimed he had no real intention of violence and only posted them to silence his friends' political discussions.

Morris was arrested on Friday following his confession.
