An Indian restaurant meant to channel you to Old Bombay has opened in West Boca Raton.

Earlier this month, Miami-based Yes Hospitality Group shuttered its Naked Taco concept at 9658 Glades Road to unveil Bar Bombay. The new restaurant opened July 5, offering Indian-style street food alongside an elevated cocktail bar program inspired by the travels and experiences of the organization's president Jay Shirodkar.

The Bar Bombay menu offers classic Indian dishes like tikka masala, butter chicken, and keema pav alongside Mumbai-inspired street food with kabobs and noodles ($7-$27.95). Don't miss the Frankie rolls, also known as Indian burritos. At Bar Bombay, they're served three ways for $9 apiece, a paratha wrap filled with a choice of masala lamb, chicken, or potato.

Specialty cocktails take classic Indian dishes to next level

"What really sets Bar Bombay apart, however, is our highly-curated drink menu," says Shirodkar. "We've curated something really spectacular with this menu. It's an experience you won't find anywhere else in Boca Raton."

Shirodkar partnered with Armando Conway, an industry professional who has worked with Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Hakkasan to develop interactive and innovative cocktail menus ($15-$18).

Options include exotic takes on a bevy of classic libations, from a cognac-spiked creamy Thai tea to a chaat masala-spiced watermelon margarita. Shirodkar's favorite, however, is the ghee-washed Old Fashioned: a high-end bourbon rendered buttery and smooth and accented with Pedro Ximenez sherry, a housemade fig syrup, and walnut bitters ($17).

Restaurant group to bring upscale Chinese restaurant to Boca next

Bar Bombay is one of several new concepts created by Shirodkar, who took over the group's operations from former president and celebrity chef Ralph Pagano earlier this year. The hospitality group currently operates several Naked Taco restaurants and the South Beach rooftop lounge Highbar, with Pagano as advisor.

Early next year, Shirodkar says he will open a second Boca Raton restaurant known as Madame Tangs. The upscale Chinese restaurant and sushi bar is set to debut at the front entrance of Boca Raton's Town Center Mall in the former Grand Lux Café space, a sprawling 6,200 square-foot restaurant that will offer a fine-dining twist to classic Chinese cuisine.

"I understand what Boca wants, and that's an amazing happy hour alongside classic, really well-executed dishes," says Shirodkar. "My goal is to create concepts for a modern crowd in South Florida. There's a definite need for something fresh and new, and that's what you'll get with Bar Bombay and Madame Tangs."
