Trio sentenced in Evansville meth trafficking operation
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Today, July 8, A trio of individuals from Evansville have been sentenced in relation to a plot of smuggling meth in from California. Colin January (47), Patricia Minor (41), Blenda Lundberg (57), were all sentenced for trying to smuggle in a large amount of methamphetamine into Evansville through the mail from California. According to the release, on April 29, 2022 January had Minor contact Lundberg, via text, about a package being sent to their apartment. Lundberg initially was hesitant to the idea until Minor reminded her that she had previously had similar packages delivered to her home with no problems. Lundberg then stated over text, “As long as I know nothing and nothing else. No trouble at all.”

Three Cannabis Shops Approved for Petaluma
More pot shops are coming to Petaluma. The Petaluma City Council voted unanimously last week to allow up to three new marijuana shops with city limits. The new ordinance takes effect August 1st. Currently, Petaluma allows up to two delivery services though only one has been permitted in town.

Man Arrested for DUI After Boat Drags Trailer and Truck Into Lake Sonoma
A man has been arrested after his boat dragged his trailer and truck into Lake Sonoma. Last Thursday night, a man drove his boat to the main dock where his truck and trailer were located. He then left his boat in the water and drove the truck down to the dock to get his boat loaded. While doing so, his trailer and truck were both pulled into the lake and quickly became submerged. Emergency crews were called and, while speaking with the man, the officers noticed signs that he had been drinking alcohol. They performed a DUI investigation and determined he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.

A controversial housing law just hit SF. This is the first major project to take advantage
San Francisco could soon see 200 new homes in Duboce Triangle enabled by a controversial state law aimed at spurring faster housing development across California. Developer representatives filed a notice of intent with the city to build a 23-story apartment building at 1965 Market St. that takes advantage of Senate Bill 423, a state law that kicked in at the end of June to fast-track new housing. The apartment tower— slated to include 200 residential units—could be the city’s inaugural project to take advantage of SB 423 benefits like bypassing discretionary hearings and waiving environmental reviews.
