Former Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal pens children’s book in honor of late wife
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Most people know Nathan Deal as Georgia’s former governor. But he’s now also the author of a brand-new children’s book!. Deal came to Atlanta News First to talk about “Veto, the Governor’s Cat.” He said he wrote the book in honor of his late wife, Sandra Deal, who was a teacher passionate about childhood literacy. Part of the book’s proceeds will go toward The Deal Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to criminal justice reform and bolstering education.

Four athletes from the Southern Eagle Aquatics swim club team competed in the annual Georgia Swimming 14 and under Age Group State Championship meet, held July 19-21 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. One athlete also competed in the Senior State Long Course Championship meet, held July 26-28 in Athens, GA. Environmental groups seeking delay in Georgia Power turbines project
ATLANTA — Lawyers for environmental groups made a final plea to Georgia energy regulators Thursday to delay Georgia Power’s plan to build three new “dual-fuel” turbines at Plant Yates near Newnan.
