Teen GFT academy gives youngsters hands-on experience while teaching life-saving skills
Greenfield Fire Territory recently hosted its annual Teen Academy, where 21 participants gained hands-on experience in firefighting. The program aimed to introduce teenagers to the profession and potentially inspire them to pursue a career in firefighting. Participants learned essential firefighting skills, such as handling hoses, searching for victims, and CPR. The academy also focused on building confidence and teamwork among the students, providing them with valuable life-saving skills. The event was a success, with students expressing enthusiasm and interest in helping others through firefighting.
Women’s Bowling receives Academic Conference Awards
INDIANAPOLIS Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced the entirety of its academic honors over the last week. Newman Women's Bowling received high honors with both team and individual successes off the lanes. The 2023-24 Team Academic All-Conference Award recognizes each team from full-time and associate member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year.
