Registration is open for Boise Entrepreneur Week until July 18 and pitch competitions will take place Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 with thousands of dollars up for grabs.

A total of $210,000 has been allocated for pitch winners, with $50,000 going to the winner of each competition and $5,000 going to the runners up.

Boise Entrepreneur Week (BEW) has been fostering entrepreneurial development since its inception in 2017, giving competitors a chance at professional growth and development. Applicants must have a business registered in Idaho and have less than $1 million in annual recurring revenue. Past winners are ineligible to pitch in the same competition they previously won in.

“Winning Boise Entrepreneur Week’s pitch competition validated our value proposition,” said Nick Stoppello, co-founder of Flashpoint Building Systems, a past winner of BEW. “It boosted our reputation and paved the way for us to expand our manufacturing equipment and begin developing proprietary software solutions.”

Flashpoint Building Systems won first place in the Most Innovative Construction Tool category at the 2024 International Builders’ Show.

According to a release from BEW, “Connetic Ventures will select an applicant from the main pitch competition, Trailmix or any of Boise State University’s public pitch competitions to offer $100,000 in equity funding. One startup will also be selected to compete in the Startup World Cup Finals, with a chance to win a grand prize of $1 million in investment.”

Additionally, the Trailmix pitch competition grand prize winner at BEW will receive a cash prize and shelf space at the Albertsons in Boise on Broadway. If sales of the product are strong, there is potential for expansion into other locations withing the region.

Venture College at Boise State University will also host pitch competitions titled Hacking for Homebuilding; The HealthTech Challenge; and the Scrap-to-Sculpture competition. Each competition provides challenges in specific industries that allow competitors to provide solutions to.
