Temperatures Continue to Rise, Heat Advisory Potential Midweek
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - After a mainly fall-like week here in NCWV, temperatures have been on the rise and back above average since Friday afternoon. Expect to see those temperatures reach into the 90s throughout the rest of the weekend and into the start of the work week. There will be isolated chances for a shower or thunderstorm in some of our northern counties on Sunday and Monday afternoon, but those chances remain low odds despite a Marginal Risk for severe weather issued by the Storm Prediction Center. Temperatures continue to rise for the middle of the week with lowland highs expected into the low to mid-90s, heat indices could push 100 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. This would be getting close to Heat Advisory territory and warrants a First Alert Weather Event for excessive heat. Children and teens participating in outdoor sports should remember to properly hydrate and take more breaks during strenuous activities. Michael Moranelli has more details in your First Alert Forecast.
