The Patient Liaisons at Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) have something cuddly for pediatric patients who are seen in the ER. Teddy bears are now available for pediatric patients who might need some extra comfort while they are being seen in the ER at Cookeville Regional.
In the Loop: 21st Annual Blackberry Jam Music Festival
The 21st annual Blackberry Jam Music Festival took place at a new venue this year. The festival moved from Boyd Mill Farm to the Hayes House at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm. Despite the heat, hundreds of people flocked to the event to listen to good music, hang out with friends and neighbors and enjoy some delicious food and drink. The show brought a star-studded lineup of musicians to the stage, including headliner Reyna Roberts and a Franklin-local band Poor Lisa, that kept visitors smiling and dancing throughout the night. Proceeds from the Blackberry Jam fund Hard Bargain’s mission to build and renovate affordable housing in the historic Hard Bargain neighborhood in Franklin. Presenting sponsor Pinnacle Financial Partners was joined by a host of corporate sponsors to help pull the high-end production together, including the remarkable collaboration of all three Franklin rotary clubs.
Nashville Symphony Opening Weekend to Feature Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero
Nashville Symphony and Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero open the 2024/25 Season with a favorite guest of the Nashville Symphony and two works that nod to Guerrero’s first season in the role. Pianist Joyce Yang performs Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and Guerrero also revisits Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, a celebration of the virtuosity found within the orchestra, with its triumphant fanfare and stormy drama. The concerts take place on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 7:30 pm at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Tickets are available at nashvillesymphony.org/openingnight.

Benefit Ride to Take Place for Sebastian Rogers Six Months After Disappearance
It’s been nearly six months since 15-year-old Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers disappeared from his mother and stepfather’s home in Hendersonville on February 26. The Sumner County Sheriff’s Department along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and search crews have searched multiple counties using boats, helicopters and horses in hopes of finding Sebastian. Although there are no new updates in the search at this time, authorities say they are remaining committed to investigating this case.

Back in the early 1980s, J.P. Pennington and Mark Gray joined forces to write a song that would become “The Closer You Get.” In 1981, the song was recorded by the band Exile. With the song gaining little attention, singer Don King picked it up and recorded his version. While recorded numerous times over the years, it eventually reached the No. 1 spot on the charts when Alabama decided to include it on the album of the same name. And with Alabama holding on to more than a few hit songs, CMT Giants decided to honor the group with special performances from groups like Little Big Town.

Stacy Torian-Batts jailed after drunkenly pulling on car doors in Walmart parking lot with 5-year-old child
36-year-old Stacy Torian-Batts was seen publicly intoxicated at Walmart on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on August 3rd. The store employees reported seeing a woman and a child walking through the parking lot. They added that the woman was pulling on random car door handles. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with Batts and her five-year-old daughter. Officers observed Batts pulling on the handles of a vehicle, and when asked what she was doing, Batts stated that she was looking for her keys.

Nashville man with Down syndrome battles illness in ICU, family launches GoFundMe
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The family of a young Nashville man with Down syndrome is now facing another battle as their son fights off illness at a local ICU. Max Hulan was born with rare genetic conditions, Down syndrome, pulmonary artesia, and pulmonary stenosis according to a GoFundMe launched by the family. The fundraiser adds given his lungs are extremely weak on a regular day, his current battle with pneumonia is now taking a "huge" toll on his body.
