2024 Basin Bowl Chuck Your Change Tonight In Memory Of Crash Victims
A local rivalry game has a larger purpose as two young lives lost too soon are remembered. The 2024 Basin Bowl is tonight as the Uintah Utes football team hosts the Union Cougars at Coach Belcher Stadium. With the help of the cheer and drill teams from both Uintah and Union High Schools, Miss Duchesne County Zoey Barney will be in attendance collecting donations at the game for the families of Lexee Winterton and Jensen Miller whose lives were lost in a tragic crash this week. GoFundMe accounts are set up online for both families as well, though the one for Jensen Miller has reached its goal and is no longer accepting donations. A link to the GoFundMe in memory of Lexee Winterton can be found with this news story on BasinNow.com. For information on how to contribute to the 2024 Basin Bowl Chuck Your Change if not planning to attend the game, call the office of Union High School or Uintah High School.
Baseball Game Recap: Maeser Prep Academy Takes a Loss
If Maeser Prep Academy was feeling good off their 29-10 takedown of Wendover last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Maeser Prep Academy Lions came up short against the Altamont Longhorns on Thursday, falling 15-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 20-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
