Unit Two Board Personnel Action
At its recent meeting, the Bond County Community Unit 2 Board of Education took action on several personnel items. Six resignations were accepted. They were from Miranda Smith as high school math teacher, James Bryant as Pocahontas physical education teacher, Melissa Peck as a Pre-K paraprofessional at Mulberry Grove, Ruth Hanebrink as high school cross country and girls track coach, Cody Heckman as assistant high school boys soccer coach, and Amber Pruitt as Greenville Junior High yearbook sponsor.
Paws In The Park Date Announced
The date for the Bond County Humane Society’s Paws In The Park has been announced. The event will be at Double J Doggie Play ‘N Stay, on the south edge of Greenville, on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be the 19th Paws In The Park.

Injuries In Early Morning Bond County Accident
A single-vehicle traffic crash at 1 a.m. Monday resulted in injuries, according to the Bond County Sheriff’s Department. Jennifer M. Krankel, age 33, of Sorento, was driving the car on Sorento Avenue, just west of Dorris Creek Road. A deputy stated the westbound unit went out of control, going off the road to the left, then travelling back across the pavement. The car left the road to the north, struck a ditch and overturned, coming to rest upside down.

Treasurer’s Office Opened Later For Tax Payments Next Week
The first installment deadline for the payment of Bond County real estate taxes is Thursday, July 25. Bond County Treasurer Colleen Camp has told WGEL her office will be open until 5 p.m., July 22 through July 25, giving taxpayers an additional hour to visit the office to pay taxes.
