34 Waterway Island Drive: Progress Makes Perfect
Over at 34 Waterway Island Drive, the 6,000-square-foot spec house being built on Morgan Creek across from the Isle of Palms Marina, progress is being made to ensure the six-bedroom, eight-bath house will be move-in ready by the end of the year. According to Trae Redmond, partner and director of construction, the timeline is on track for installing interior trim, tile and custom cabinetry supplied by Classic Kitchens of Charleston throughout the home, as well as completing the stucco exterior, by the end of August. Redmond said that the overall design is “coastal transitional” with classic, timeless elements that will never go out of style, as opposed to “in-your-face beachy coastal.” For example, interior designer Amy Trowman’s appliance package for the kitchen and scullery includes high-end, sleek selections from German-manufactured Miele products perfect for doing the heavy lifting when it comes to entertaining. Further, Trowman has opted for a soft palette of paint colors and wallpaper, as well as light fixtures with modern elements that bring the outside in, enhancing stunning views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the natural surroundings while also providing an element of privacy. Redmond added that the home, planned by architect Carl McCants of Mc3 Designs, is fitted with materials from Southern Lumber.
