IDAHO FALLS – The pilot who crashed in the Palisades Reservoir Thursday afternoon is dead. It happened a little after 5 p.m. near Alpine, Wyoming, according to Sgt. Bryan Lovell with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. The 53-year-old man from California crashed while practicing aerobatic maneuvers. He was the only person on the plane.

Bonneville County, ID (CBS2) — A small plane crashed in the Palisades Reservoir near Alpine, Wyoming on Thursday. The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says witnesses called the crash into dispatch just before 5:30 p.m. reporting that a plane was in the water. Several boaters in the area assisted the pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane, by providing first aid until ambulance personnel and Deputies could take over at a nearby shore. No one else was injured by the crash.

Plea agreement reached in Michael Bauchman case
Challis resident Michael Bauchman has accepted a plea deal in a Bonneville County court case filed in February. Bauchman has agreed to plead guilty to a charge of burglary and a charge of damaging property. He had been charged with two counts of burglary and another charge of property damage. The other two charges were dropped as part of the deal. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges in April and a trial had been set for June 10. But the plea agreement means the case won’t go to trial.
