Vacant lots at East Pierce County retail center soon could be filled. See what’s proposed

Panera Bread, Aspen Dental and an Xfinity retail store are among new businesses that appear to be coming to a prominent Bonney Lake shopping center.

That’s according to design-review plans submitted in late May to the city of Bonney Lake.

Mountain View Marketplace since 2016 has attracted a variety of businesses, including its anchor, Costco , though several parcels have remained undeveloped.

That could be about to change.

The developer for this next phase is an LLC affiliated with OneCorp Global of Florida. A representative with OneCorp has submitted plans to the city to develop one of those vacant parcels and “add to the existing Mountain View Commercial area,” according to renderings.

The project address is 20502 98th St. E. along state Route 410 at the now-empty Lot 3 next to Chipotle. It calls for two new single-story commercial buildings, around 5,000 square feet each, offering four business spaces.

According to the design submitted to the city, plans call for two tenant spaces each in two separate buildings. One building is shown containing Aspen Dental with Xfinity in the neighboring retail space, while the other building is shown to contain Panera Bread and a retail space with no identifying business for now.

Representatives for Comcast/Xfinity were unavailable for comment Friday. Emails to media representatives for Aspen Dental and Panera were not returned.

Another development in the works nearby is an 11,460-square-foot Kre-8-tive Kidz daycare center with a 5,748-square-foot outdoor play area. That project is planned for 9902 205th Ave. E., the vacant Lot 5 at the site. Those plans were submitted earlier this year, with a building-permit application submitted last month.

The developments would fill out a series of lots that have been awaiting development.

Rounding out the sites on that side of the marketplace, Mountain View Chiropractic and Wellness center is at Lot 4, and an LLC affiliated with Premier Storage of Memphis purchased Lot 6 in October 2021 for $2 million for a new storage-unit business.

Two remaining parcels, Lots 7 and 8, across from Lots 3-6, have yet to be developed.
