Millikin University President announces retirement
Decatur, IL –Jim Reynolds, Ph.D, the 16th President of Millikin University, announced he will retire June 30, 2025. Elected in July 2020, Reynolds led the university through the COVID-19 pandemic and worked on the financial restructuring of the university, introducing the Millikin Tuition Promise and the Big Blue Pledge. The relationship between Millikin and Richland Community College was also strengthened under Reynolds to allow for an easier transfer process.

Undocumented Illinois residents can now get standard driver's licenses
Under provisions of a new law, undocumented residents in Illinois are now eligible to receive four-year driver’s licenses. According to HB 3882, which went into effect July 1, those residents can now receive standard licenses and identification cards instead of the previously issued Temporary Visitor’s Driver’s License.

Taylorville Holds Dedication Ceremony At Veterans Park
A 21-gun salute followed by Taps signified a dedication of the sixth wall at the Taylorville Veterans Memorial.
