Juveniles in custody after shooting at Langview Apartments in Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)– The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a malicious wounding attempt at the Langview Apartments on Yorktown Ave on Saturday, July 13. According to police, officers were dispatched at 6:59 p.m. to the apartment complex on the 2200 block of Yorktown Ave on a report of shots fire. Within minutes of the initial call, police say an adult male arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Six killed in traffic crashes on Va. highways during July 4 holiday
RICHMOND – Preliminary data indicates six individuals lost their lives in six traffic crashes during the five-day statistical counting period designated for the July 4, 2024, holiday. Of those who died, one was a pedestrian struck in a hit-and-run crash, four were drivers and one was a passenger. The fatal crashes took place in the City of Richmond and the counties of Bedford, Charles City, Henrico and Wythe counties. Two of the fatal crashes occurred in Bedford County. During the two-day statistical counting period for July 4, 2023, traffic crashes claimed seven lives on Virginia’s highways.*
